Having Sundays off is getting to be a habit
Not really. The only reason I had today off is the GM doesn't want to work on a holiday and she has to take Thursday off. So she worked today and I get 11 hours of time and a half tomorrow.
Today's adventure: We went to the Eastern Market. Had a great time. Saw a lot of jewelry and got a few ideas. Saw some really nice beads, but they didn't have them priced, so I passed. I did buy some pears. I think they called them brown pears or maybe they said it was a pear/apple hybrid. I tried one and liked it so I bought 6. Then we wandered around the block some and saw the theater where Mom had her first date. It used to be the Penn Theater, now its a cleaners and a florist. We walked by the library where Mom used to meet Gary's father.
Coming home on the Metro after we passed the Grosvenor-Strathmore station we went back into a tunnel and the lights went out, then the train stopped. Then the driver walked briskly through the train to the other end. We sat there not moving for around 5 minutes but it seemed like 20. Then the train went back to the Grosvenor-Strathmore station and left us on the platform. The next train made everyone get off and went out of service. Finally the a train arrived that let us on to continue to Rockville. Metro must think we are mushrooms. They surely kept us in the dark about what was going on...they didn't feed us any shit though. They just plain didn't tell us anything at all.
All in all it was a pretty day. Saw lots of pretty things and a few bizarre ones. Talked to some nice dogs and their owners. Forgot the camera so I don't have any pics to share with you..oh well. Now after all that walking all day, Sioux wants me to take her for a walk, so I have my orders and must go.
