Wonderful pictures! The costumes are so colorful.
As PowWows go, this one was ho-hum. But we did learn, as usual, many things. And my spirit was renewed because we reunited with friends and "family."
Let's do it again next weekend, somewhere else.
2nd comment: For the un-initiated, PowWows can be equated to a family reunion. Aside from the dancing, one might call the rest of it networking, or sucking up to the elders and leaders. The dancing is only one of the joyous aspects of the gathering. This PowWow MC did not invite the non-contestants to dance, as some do.
There is hand-crafting in leather, hide, beads, feathers and textiles. Of course, for sale, but also for sharing of techniques and style. And FOOD. I really couldn't get through the day without traditional fry bread.
Fantastic pix! We have an occasional Pow-Wow, here, I might watch the next one that comes along.
