I went, but....

I didn't dance.

I got there at 8:50 and the beginner dance lessons only lasted till 9. I watched.
When the dance party started I sat down and watched. I met the instructors and they offered to give me a quick private lesson but my feet were killing me. So I watched for awhile.
This cute elderly man kinda sauntered over to ask me to dance but I declined. He was a Cool Cat, Man.
The music was great 40's and 50's. Love that brass.
I think I'm gonna like the Lindy Hop better than West Coast.

We live in a gated community. They close the gates and you have to use your key fob to open the gates after 6. They used to have a female employee running the gate but I found out last night she has been replaced.

I turned into the entrance and saw the gate was up as two cars went thru. I assumed the lazy guard was there and didn't have the gate down as usual. I proceeded to go thru when I heard loudly "Don't Do It!" I stopped and got a fussing at by the new security guard. I then had to prove I lived here to get in.

I consoled myself after the tongue lashing by a minimum wage gate babysitter by having one of the rare seasonal beers I was lucky enough to stumble upon at Whole Foods. Dogfish head Pumpkin Ale. mmmmmmm yummy. If your lucky enough to stumble upon this treasure, get it its wonderful and only made for a limited time. They don't even pay me for this. Mom and I ate at the Alehouse a couple of times when we lived in Gaithersburg but I had to read about the Pumpkin ale in the Miami paper. I was thinking about ordering it online when I found it. I just hope its still there when I go next time.

I have had a little run of bad luck last couple of days. I got yelled at by a security guard, I stepped in dog poo, My canned milk turned and my check didn't get direct deposited. I assumed that the direct deposit would continue. After all I didn't change companies just territories but I guess not.

40's and 50's music....gosh, I'd be too busy singin' along to dance. LOL

And I think I'm glad for the security guard who did his job. That oughta make you feel safe if not a bit sheepish for trying to sneak in. LOL

I couldn't live in your community. I'd be arrested when the first neofascist guard approached me. But I guess mel is right, it's got to make you feel safe.
