Chuck Taylor was a high school basketball player when Converse introduced baseketball shoes in 1918. in 1919 he went to work for Converse and by 1923 he changed the shoe design and his name was on them. He died in Port Charlotte Florida in 1969 but he did not even make the notable resident list for that city.
