WANNA RIDE on the L.O.S.T - part 1
L.O.S.T.
(Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail)
SUPPORT - For every two teams there must be at least one support vehicle. Since these are one-way rides a support vehicle needs to be capable of carrying six passengers at once back to their cars after the ride is complete. It does not need to be able to carry the bicycles. More importantly, the driver of the support vehicle has to have a cell phone on them so they can be reached in case a problem arises with one of their riders.

TWO TOADS & A PRINCESS
Lynellen - Support Driver
Riders
Laura - Xander - Brett

Phil Kelley - Support Driver
Chris - Support Driver
Tricia - Support Driver
TEAMS - All riders will be on teams of three. - Teams can be picked voluntarily or you will be assigned to a team before the ride. Let's make this part fun! Team names, team colors, team mottos, bogus team sponsors, team mascots, whatever you like. If you organize a team, pick team members with similar riding skills, because the reason behind the team is if someone suffers mechanical problems, gets hurt or just can't continue their team is responsible to get the rider down to the roadway and wait until a support vehicle gets there to pick them up, NO EXCEPTIONS! NO ONE GETS LEFT BEHIND! One member of each team will be captain and is required to carry a cell phone with them on the ride. Phone numbers will be exchanged between captains and their support vehicle driver.

SAFETY - Common sense goes a long way here people! In order to try and be safe each rider is required to carry at least two quarts of liquid for the ride. Sunscreen, bug spray, hat, sunglasses are also suggested for each rider. Each team is required to carry a small first aid kit and have the tools and capability to fix a flat tire. Areas of this ride are miles from the closest vehicle access so these measures must be taken.

SPEED - This is not a race! Speeds of 10-12 MPH should be typical for this ride. We're not saying you can't ride faster or slower but teams are not permitted to ride faster than their slowest member. Keep it together, hence the term team. Team membership is for one ride only! If you find you can't keep up with your present team members offer to switch to a slower team for the next ride.

Wow what an awesome event.....
Makes me wonder if we've something similar around here.
Not that I'd be out riding a bike--but himself might enjoy it.
