Reverent ride: Cyclists join Ride of Silence tonight around South Florida
May 19, 2010|By Nick Sortal, Sun Sentinel
Bicyclists are invited to gather Wednesday for the worldwide Ride of Silence.
The event aims to honor those killed or injured while cycling, and involves riding about 12 mph for about 10 miles in a silent procession. Organizers say it is a peaceful event to encourage motorists to share the road. There are about 220 rides in the United States and about 25 in other countries.
