  DRESSING UP AS VIKINGS?

  Here's the text from the first promo e-mail for this event.
Ok, so for those of you who have participated in the City of
  Lake
  Worth Fourth of July raft race you already know how much fun it
  is to be
  a pirate and raid the Raft Race. The first year was a total
  surprise,
  the Downtown Jewel Neighborhood Association shocked the world
  when the
  pirates invaded the race and squashed the hopes of the Kiwanis
  Clubs bid
  for a hat trick win. The second year they thought something was
  up, but
  what? Oh yeahhhhhh, we stepped it up a bit and we brought them,
  the
  Maersk Alabama, USS Bainbridge, Somali pirates, Navy seals and
  a full
  out assault and rocket barrage. AND, for the second year in a
  row, won
  the coveted "Crowd Pleaser" award.

  Well now four years later. . . the other neighborhood
  associations want
  to get in on the fun too.
  The rest of the communities and participants are now promoting
  their
  groups and neighborhoods to, in addition to their raft race
  entry, also
  bring along some pirates in kayaks w/ squirt guns to get in on
  the fun
  we Hashers have been dishing out for the past few years.

  WHAT!?! What is that you say?

  They want to homogenize our marauding pirate behavior into good
clean
  wholesome fun. Well we just can't have that! So, if the muggles
  are
  going to be paddling around as pirates having some "good clean
  fun", there's only one thing left for us to do." SEND IN THE
  VIKINGS!! Do you, have what it takes, to be a Viking?? Come and
  pillage
  the innocent pirates on the high seas of the intra-coastal
  waterway in
  Lake Worth"
