My blog has a new policy. The Comment if you want policy.
Bet your wondering what brought this on....well I got an email from someone who participates in a weekly meme that I participated in. I was informed that I really wasn't participating because I didn't comment.
Sometimes I don't have time to comment..I'm just checking posts before I go to work. Sometimes I don't have anything to say. Sometimes..well I was brought up if you didn't have anything nice to say don't say anything.
So if you just have to have comments, maybe you should password your blog and give the password to people you know leave comments. Because I'm gonna read them and not leave comments, unless I'm moved to.
The new Link Policy:
If I like read your blog everyday I'm gonna link you. If you link me, thats great, but if I don't go there everyday I'm not gonna link you. If you stop posting on your blog I'm gonna remove the link. If you remove me, thats great but doesn't change anything.
Now please return to your regular blogging.

Hi Lyn!
Just a quick comment (ha!)
I agree 100% about the "I'm gonna not leave comments, unless I'm moved to"
I believe that's what the freedom of the internet is about!
cheers,
Morgen

That you MUST comment or else is downright playground mentality; tantamount to taking your ball and going home. I dropped a blog because of the writer's demanind comments; I *hate* to be told what to do, let alone by some puffed up airbag on the other side of the world! :-D

I admit that I'm guilty of not commenting as much as I should though. It's mostly because I'm sneak-reading from work, think "I'll go back and comment later..." and often because I'm unfamiliar with the topic (politics, sports, religion, music) and have nothing worthwhile to contribute, even though I may have learned something.

I tend to comment if I have anything to say... or if I've not been in touch for a while and am a regular reader so just want to say hello.

However I won't be in the least offended if you don't comment back.

One thing that tends to prompt me to comment is posting about comments... or rules partaining to comments!

Damn it - done it again.

There are rules. We all must obey the rules. Rules are our life.

NOT!!

Good commentary.

I get the feeling I know whom you got that email from ... and if it's who I think it was, the nerve!

I don't expect everyone who comes by my blog to comment. I know that there are a lot of people who have told me that they are regular readers who have never once commented (an aunt and cousin for example) and I have not told them to be gone from my blog and never darken my corner of the Internet again! I am just happy to have them stop by and visit.

I know that peoples' lives are busy and I don't expect them to comment when they have nothing they feel the need to say. I know a lot of bloggers have problems with lurkers but I don't mind them at all - lurk away! And if I lurk occasionally, what can I say? I didn't know it was improper Blog-iquette!
