My Youngest Graduated and I started School.
We attended the graduation for Oxon Hill Class of 2007.
I was disappointing in that the speakers all were mush mouthed and we couldn't hear what was being said. Thats the P.G. county accent. I'm not ragging on P.G. county because I now am lucky enough to live and work in Montgomery, but these are the reasons I left in the first place. I am also a P. G. County Public School Graduate.
One of the Speakers went ghetto on us..really embarrassing since she represented the district and is an elected official.
The inspirational speaker, Michael Miller only addressed the African American children and was confrontational to all the other ethnic groups represented.
The audience had no manners, we had to move our seats once because, like a fog horn a man behind us kept yelling "Little Man" down to the stage every couple of minutes.
We moved to a seat in front of Tiffany's family who used a combination of cell phone and yelling to try to get her attention. When Tiffany got her diploma they screamed so shrilly, I still can't hear well.
Afterward we waited outside forever for Bob to find us and finally gave up to meet him at IHop. I went the wrong way on Route 1 and got stuck in traffic so it took us 45 minutes to get there. So we sucked down a iced tea and got our sandwiches to go because I had my first class. We got to sit in more traffic and I was late for my first class but it's ok.

Yeah.....but she GRADUATED, mom!
Congratulations to her--and to you!
(I hate cellphones...)
Also, we missed the photo opportunity when she was presented with her diploma. We were in nosebleed territory with a zoom lens focused on the presenter. They announced RAH SHELL and mumbled the last name---her name is Rachael. We missed the photo because we didn't recognize the accent.
Oh, I'm so proud of Rachael, sorry if my post didn't convey that.
