Not Impressed with the electronics today

Mom had to have a heart catherization done today. We had to go down to Washington Hospital center. We ran a map quest and used W's navigation system in the Murano. We mostly used the map quest. So we kept hearing off route..Recalculating. While in the Hospital half of the time I had to turn the cell phone off, when I could use it, in the cafeteria,I had no bars. Mom had to stay overnight and I tried to call W to tell him but because of the reception he heard a snippet of what I said and whatever he heard didn't sound good. I got a kinda frantic voicemail.
So coming home by myself, I tried to set the navigation system but it kept telling me to turn on roads that were not there. I found Rhode Island Ave on my own and knew it would get me home but the navigation system kept telling me I was on Georgia Ave. I turned it off and drove home.
I didn't know it was a law that you can't use a cell without hands free in D.C. I just pulled off the road to call W because I was playing with the GPS and talking. A cop passed me while I was pulled over and looked at me talking on my cell on the side of the road. Do I get a gold star?
